Shinshu Distillery was founded in 1985 and is owned by Hombo Shuzo Group Ltd.

Mars The Y.A. combines malt whiskies from Japan's cold-humid Alps as well as the south of the country. It is aged in bourbon casks at the cask warehouse on Yakushima Island.
