Mars Shinshu Komagatake Japanese Spring

From tropical to alpine: Mars whiskies mature in completely different climatic zones in Japan. All three of the company's locations are represented in the Spring Edition. This limited series is adorned with the Japanese symbol of spring: the cherry blossom. In some of the casks used, the cask lids were also replaced with cherrywood ones. Mars thus offers a unique trio that ensures spring feelings all year round.

The Mars Komagatake – Japanese Spring Edition combines American oak and peated sherry casks to create a complex profile of luscious light and exotic fruits, honey, cocoa powder, and hazelnuts.

Fine smoke, exotic fruits, and dark chocolate combine after maturation in bourbon, sherry, and port casks to create the Mars Tsunuki – Japanese Spring Edition. Those who appreciate luscious tropical and salty maritime flavors will find the blended malt Japanese whisky Mars Yakushima – Japanese Spring Edition particularly appealing.

This “Japanese Spring” limited series has been created by Mars Whisky to capture the essence of Japanese spring, a season synonymous with sweetness and cherry blossom, often celebrated by the Japanese through the tradition of hanami (literally, “looking at the flowers”). The concept of this series highlights Mars' three aging sites: Yakushima, Tsunuki and Shinshu, each bringing a unique dimension by symbolizing a stage in Japan's cherry blossom season, from south to north. The labels of these whiskies illustrate this floral progression: Yakushima, with its tropical, maritime climate, Tsunuki, offering a deep, energetic whisky, and Shinshu, with a fruity, elegant whisky. This limited series of 400 bottles of each version, adorned with pink flowers, offers a taste of Japanese spring all year round.
