Glen Grant 70 years old

The oldest release from the famous Glen Grant distillery, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail for its Private Collection series, is a stunning 70-year-old Speyside single malt that has been aged in a single, first-fill sherry butt. Initially sweet on the nose, it has aromas of vanilla fudge, strawberries and raspberries, developing into waxy notes of orange peel and cinnamon sticks. The palate is smooth and subtle; sherry-soaked fruits mix with fresh orange zest and cardamom. A dry, herbal element develops and brings cracked black pepper and aniseed notes, then a delicate smoke carries through to a long, smooth finish. 48.6% abv.
