It was meant to be a single cask that the connoisseurs of the Wu Dram Clan wanted to select from Benromach in Forres – instead, they ended up with four casks for an exceptional small batch.

Two sherry casks, with their creamy, deep, and typical, slightly mineral and earthy notes, evoked memories of bygone eras. Two bourbon barrels, on the one hand, demonstrated the characteristic tropical notes of Benromach with mango, papaya, and coconut, and on the other hand, surprisingly pronounced smoky qualities with a subtle salty depth reminiscent of whiskies from the Isles.

How to choose? The best approach is not to. The result: the Benromach 22 Year Old – a whisky that combines tropical fruits, dark, nutty sherry notes, mineral freshness, and smoky elegance. And: a first release for both Benromach and an independent bottler. The special bottling is rounded off with bespoke packaging that does justice to its contents.
