Old school yet innovative: Benromach combines both qualities under one roof. The small distillery is reviving a nearly lost style of peated Speyside whiskies and, at the same time, experimenting with single malts in its Contrasts range, creating whiskies that go beyond the distillery's usual fare.

With the Benromach Contrasts: High Enzyme 2012/2024, enthusiasts have the rare opportunity to taste a single malt made from enzyme-rich barley. This unpeated barley with its high enzyme content is typically used for producing grain whisky.

The higher enzymatic activity influences the fermentation process, resulting in a distinctive flavor profile. Fresh aromas of lemon drops, green apple, and peppermint mingle with the sweetness of honeycomb and pineapple, along with toasted oak and spicy pepper.

Nose: Delicate, fresh aromas of lemon sherbet, barley malt, and green apple, followed by jasmine notes.

Palate: Sweet and creamy, with grapefruit, lemon, and lime. Pineapple gives way to notes of honeycomb and spicy pepper.

Finish: Long and fresh, with toasted oak and peppermint.
