The Torabhaig Sound of Sleat is part of the highly acclaimed Legacy Series from the still young Torabhaig Distillery, located on the south coast of the Isle of Skye in Scotland.
The whisky is matured entirely in first-fill bourbon casks, which gives it a wonderfully balanced combination of smoky character, vanilla sweetness and fresh spice. The peated barley malt used creates a powerful yet elegant peat character that harmoniously interacts with the maritime notes of the Isle of Skye and the clear structure of the distillate. Despite its youthfulness, the Sound of Sleat impresses with its depth, structure and aromatic maturity.
Torabhaig is the second legal distillery on Skye after Talisker - and this bottling impressively demonstrates the potential of this new whisky era.
The Torabhaig Sound of Sleat Batch Strength has a malted barley peat level of 78+ ppm and a final in-glass peat level of approximately 19 ppm.
Nose: Smoky and fresh with notes of peat, citrus, barley malt, vanilla and salty sea air.
Taste: Strong and structured with peat smoke, spicy wood, sweetness of honey and vanilla, plus light maritime notes.
Finish: Long-lasting, dry and smoky with salty depth and a fine herbal note.
