The Tobermory 27 Years Old Expression 5 is an impressive and particularly matured bottling from the prestigious Tobermory distillery on the Isle of Mull in Scotland. As the fifth in a limited series, this edition stands for a high level of craftsmanship, depth and elegance. With a proud 27 years of maturation and a strong alcohol content of 53.1% vol., this single malt presents itself as a multi-layered, expressive whisky with a maritime influence and rare cask complexity.
The long maturation period in selected oak casks - often enhanced by special finishes such as in wine or sherry casks - gives the whisky a wonderful balance between fruitiness, spice and mature wood structure. Typical of Tobermory, the unpeated style is also retained in this bottling, allowing the fine fruit and cask notes to come to the fore. The bottling is non-chill-filtered and without colorant in order to preserve the original depth of character.
Within the series, Expression 5 stands for complexity, exclusivity and collector's value - a drop for true connoisseurs of mature Highland island whiskies.
