The Stauning Kaos Danish Whisky may seem chaotic because of its name, but this assumption is misleading. The name of the whisky is inspired by Danish history and goes back to Thorvald Stauning (1873-1943), a social democratic prime minister of Denmark. In his 1935 election campaign, Stauning used the famous slogan "Stauning or Chaos" (Danish "Stauning eller Kaos"), with which he eventually won the election.
The whisky itself is a successful blend of Stauning Single Malt (without smoke), Stauning Malted Rye and Stauning Smoked Single Malt. All the characteristics that make Stauning Kaos whisky so distinctive are based on the use of local raw materials and traditional production methods implemented at the Stauning distillery.
Carefully selected first-fill Makers Mark Bourbon casks and heavily charred American Virgin Oak barrels are used for the maturation of the whisky to give the drink its special flavor.
