Hampden Estate was founded in 1753 and has been distilling rum for about three centuries in the community of Trelawny, which is considered the Grand Cru of Jamaican rum. The distillation of the truly refined Hampden takes place in copper pot stills, using only local sugar cane from the distillery's surroundings. Maturation takes place for seven years in oak barrels. Bottling takes place without the addition of colorants and sugar.
