The name Compagnie des Indes derives from the East India Companies (Great Britain, Holland, France and Portugal). These trading companies traveled to America and India to import various goods into their home country.
The Compagnie des Indes Rum brand was founded in 2014 and includes selected blends and single cask bottlings from various distilleries.
The single cask rum has a maturation period of 13 years, 20 months of which it matures in ex-Armagnac casks. It is produced at the Grays Distillery.
