In the late 1990s, a group of friends had the ambitious plan to establish the first whisky distillery in Wales for over a century. Their aim was to create a whisky as pure and precious as Welsh gold. In 2004, on St. David's Day, this dream became a reality when Penderyn Whisky saw the light of day. The distillery owes its uniqueness in part to the copper still with a special still designed by Dr. David Faraday. It is located in the village of Penderyn, at the southern end of the Brecon Beacons.
