The GlenAllachie Meikle Tòir 5 Years Old The Turbo Peated Speyside Single Malt Whisky 2024 50% Vol. 0.7 l + GB comes from the independent GlenAllachie Distillery, which has stood for precision craftsmanship, cask expertise and characterful single malts since it was taken over by Billy Walker. The Meikle Tòir series is GlenAllachie's homage to traditional but newly interpreted peated styles from Speyside. Heavily peated malt is used for this edition, which adds an intense smoky character and gives the whisky its distinctive, powerful style.
This 5-year matured single malt is created through a combination of careful distillation in copper pot stills and cask maturation in selected first fill bourbon casks, American oak and additional aromatic virgin oak casks. These casks characterize the depth, spiciness and structure of this young, yet amazingly balanced whisky. It is bottled at 50% vol. in its natural form, naturally not chill-filtered and not colored, in keeping with the GlenAllachie craft. The presentation in the high-quality gift box rounds off the expressive character of this smoky Speyside bottling.
Tasting notes: Color: Golden, clear honey tone.
Nose: Intense smoked peat, toasted vanilla, light fruits, honey, sweet oak and hints of oat cookies.
Taste: Powerful and full-bodied with plenty of peat smoke, sweet vanilla, burnt sugar, light stone fruit, spices and lively wood notes.
Finish: Long-lasting, smoky and spicy, with notes of vanilla, honey, ash and fine oak spice.
