The Lochlea Red Wine Cask will be released annually in a new limited edition. The 2025 release, matured in Grenache wine casks, is a fruity Lowland whisky with notes of summer berries, strawberry shortcake, sweet vanilla, and spiced biscuits.
A promising first release that paves the way for an ever-evolving series of red wine finishes.
Nose: Bright, fresh pink berries, sweet and floral, with hints of oak and tannins.
Palate: Fresh, juicy red fruits, especially berries and cherries, with sweet vanilla and almond notes reminiscent of a strawberry shortcake.
Finish: Robust oak, grain, tannins, and spiced biscuits.
