Edradour 1989/2025 - 35 y.o. - Enigma Part 2 - 1st Fill Sherry Butt #368 - 200th Anniversary
Released to celebrate Edradour Distillery's 200th Anniversary in 2025. A pair of 35 year old single malts showcase the curious differences in warehouse methods, especially after extended ageing.
Enigma 2 cask #368 uses spirit distilled on 27th September 1989, the same day as Enigma 1, and matured for over thirty five years in a 1st fill Oloroso Sherry butt, in modern warehousing. After bottling in July 2025, this cask produced 379 bottles at 62.3% ABV. Ultimately less bottles than Enigma 1 but at a heftier alcohol strength. Possibly more cask extraction? An Enigma indeed.
