The Timorous Beastie Cheese Cellar Madeira Cask Finish Limited Edition is an exceptional and very limited
bottling from Douglas Laing, created as part of the popular Remarkable Regional Malts series.
This special edition of the Highland blended malt was created specifically to complement cheese and matured
in select Madeira wine casks, which impart a fruity, spicy, and elegantly mature note to the whisky.
Bottled at a robust 48% ABV, non-chill-filtered, and without coloring, this whisky presents itself in its
original form – full of character, unfined, and full of depth. The blend is based on selected single malts
from the Scottish Highlands, typically bottlings from Glen Garioch, Blair Athol, or Dalmore, which lend the
whisky its smooth texture, honeyed sweetness, and subtle spice. The finish in Madeira casks highlights the
fruity complexity and rounds off the profile with notes of dried fruits, grapes and nutty warmth.
The Timorous Beastie is named after the poem of the same name by Robert Burns—a
tongue-in-cheek homage to the "timid little beast" who, however, reveals himself to be anything but reserved in the glass.
The "Cheese Cellar Edition" was specially composed to create a complete culinary experience when paired with
savory, creamy, or aged cheeses.
