In 2021, three whisky enthusiasts from the Swiss Langatun Distillery brought a passion project to life. With LongValley Selection – inspired by the location of the Baumberger family's traditional distillery and brewery in Langenthal, in the Swiss canton of Bern – they entered the world of independent bottlers. Their years of experience in distillation, tasting, and honing their palate provided the perfect foundation.
LongValley Selection presents independent bottlings from Scotland's whisky regions, which – if necessary – are finished in select casks for a period of maturation, resulting in exquisite drams with a distinctive range of flavors. The LongValley Selection Craigellachie 16 y.o. Single Cask Sherry Butt comes from the distillery founded in 1891 in the town of Craigellachie in the Speyside region. This bottling perfectly reflects the character of the distillery and its region of origin: The single malt is a wonderfully smooth distillate, matured for 16 years in a fruity sherry butt. With notes of cassis, roasted aromas, leather, cloves, and cotton candy, this Craigellachie is sure to delight sherry lovers.
