This 21 Year Old limited edition is where Jerez meets Islay. It is a rare marriage of two time-honoured crafts: the sherry heritage of Jerez and the robust strength of Islay's most remote distillery. A long 21 month finish in hand-selected Pedro Ximénez casks honours the richness of Spain's sherry-making legacy while allowing Bunnahabhain's coastal character to shine through. It's a whisky shaped by patience, craft and place. From the chalky soils of Jerez to the salt-laden air of Bunnahabhain Bay, this is more than maturation. It is a dialogue between Spain and Scotland, sweetness and salt, power and poise.
First laid to rest in ex-Oloroso sherry casks, our robust, oily spirit developed depth, structure, and coastal character. But its journey didn't end there. For 21 months, the whisky was finished in 21 hand-selected Pedro Ximénez casks. A bold choice that brings indulgent layers of sweetness and spice. PX's rich, syrupy character weaves seamlessly through the spirit rather than overpowering it. The result is a whisky that balances the luscious influence of sherry with the unmistakable soul of Islay. Rare, refined and bottled at 53.1% cask strength ABV.
An indulgent dram that opens with layers of PX-soaked raisins and chocolate-dipped cherries, before giving way to roasted nuts and spiced oak. A single malt where sweetness, spice and coastal soul meet in perfect harmony.
