The Aberlour A'Bunadh Original Cask Strength Sherry Cask Collection Limited Edition 1 marks a new chapter in the history of the legendary A'Bunadh range. With an alcohol content of 56.2% vol. and bottled in an elegant gift box (UK), this bottling marks the start of a limited series that impressively honors the heritage of the Speyside distillery Aberlour. This first edition of the Sherry Cask Collection has been designed to celebrate the deep connection between Aberlour and the finest sherry casks in Spain - a true masterpiece of artisan distilling.
Unlike the classic A'Bunadh line, which is matured exclusively in first-fill Oloroso casks, this edition has been given a secondary maturation in Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, giving it added complexity and remarkable depth. The Master Distiller will vary this concept for each future edition of the Sherry Cask Collection - always focusing on the transformative effect of sherry cask maturation. Naturally, it was bottled at natural cask strength, without chill filtration and without coloring in order to preserve its authentic character and unadulterated aroma.
Tasting notes: Color: Deep mahogany with reddish-golden reflections.
Nose: Rich and inviting with notes of juicy red apples, blackberries, raisins, caramel wafers, demerara sugar, cinnamon and ginger.
Palate: Powerful and complex with flavors of blackcurrants, spiced pears, vanilla toffee, dates, raisins, oak spice and star anise.
Finish: Long-lasting, fruity and syrupy with spicy, slightly sweet notes and a fine sherry depth.
