With Batch 001, the Thompson Brothers of Dornoch have created a love letter to their immediate neighbor, the world-famous Clynelish Distillery. Only a few miles separate the bottler from the distillery, whose spirit is renowned for its oily richness and mineral depth. Eight years of maturation in hand-selected casks preserves the spirit's vibrant character, while bottling at 48% ABV—without chill-filtration or added coloring—maintains the distillery's authentic style. In the glass, the whisky presents a radiant golden-yellow hue. The bouquet immediately reveals the waxy texture so characteristic of the distillery, accompanied by bright citrus aromas, green fruit, and a subtle maritime note. On the palate, a lively complexity unfolds—combining salty depth with a delicate honey sweetness—leading into a long-lasting, spicy, and mineral finish.
