Founded in 2017, the Kanosuke Distillery draws upon the expertise of the Komasa family, who have been crafting fine spirits since 1883. For this limited edition, Master Blender Yoshitsugu Komasa combines whiskies matured in Oloroso and Cream Sherry casks, subtly complementing them with whiskies aged in new American white oak. A distinctive feature is the "Wa" nuance—a Japanese spice character typical of Kanosuke, derived from the use of casks previously seasoned with shochu. Bottled without coloring or chill-filtration, this single malt retains its full, authentic texture.

Shimmering in a warm ochre hue, the whisky reveals an inviting profile of dark cherries and the aroma of freshly baked fruitcake right on the nose. A full-bodied sweetness unfolds on the palate, where the creamy texture of sherry meets exotic mangosteen. This tropical fruitiness is underpinned by a subtle, roasted spice that lends structure to the spirit without overpowering its elegance. The finish is long-lasting, evoking the pleasant atmosphere of an evening by the sea.
