Señor Sotol Durango 100% Sotol Artesanal DOP 43% vol. 0.7 l is an authentic sotol from Mexico, produced using traditional, handcrafted methods in accordance with the specifications of the D.O.P. (Denominación de Origen Protegida). Sotol – much like tequila or mezcal – is a spirit with a protected designation of origin; however, it is not made from agave but from the desert plant Dasylirion (the sotol plant), which grows wild in the northern regions of Mexico. This speciality showcases the diversity of Mexican spirits beyond the well-known agave spirits.

To produce Señor Sotol Durango, the hearts of the sotol plants are cooked in earth ovens according to ancient tradition, then crushed in stone mills and fermented in open vats. Distillation takes place in copper stills, which lends the spirit purity and expressiveness. Bottled at 43% ABV, the result is a sotol that embodies both the mineral freshness and the earthy, spicy characteristics of the plant. Labelled as ‘artesanal’, it guarantees authentic, artisanal production in small batches.
