Descripción
Cork, located on the southern coast of Ireland, is home to the picturesque town of Skibbereen, which is crossed by the River Ilen. This region is known for its scenic beauty and cultural significance, particularly in the tradition of whiskey production. In 2007, three friends founded the West Cork Distillery in Skibbereen. This small, independent distillery is characterized by the production of high-quality whiskeys, which are made with great care and craftsmanship.
From the very beginning, the founders focused on quality and tradition, combined with an innovative approach. The West Cork Distillery uses crystal clear spring water and carefully selected grain. This commitment reflects the spirit of innovation and craftsmanship that characterizes the Irish whiskey industry.
Peat Charred Cask Irish Whiskey is aged for five years in ex-Bodega sherry casks before being finished for six months in new American oak casks. These casks are previously peated and smoked with bog oak from Glengarriff. The wood contains a particularly large amount of natural peat. (automated translation)
