Descripción
Tullibardine 500 Sherry is a single malt Scotch whisky from the Tullibardine distillery in the Scottish village of Blackford in Perthshire. The distillery was founded in 1949 on the site of a former brewery and has been producing whisky ever since. In 2003, the distillery was saved from closure when a team of independent investors led by former investment banker Michael Beamish took it over. Since then, the Tullibardine distillery has grown in success and won many awards for its whiskies.
The Tullibardine 500 Sherry Finish is created by double distilling unpeated malted barley in traditional copper pot stills using pure water from the Danny Burn of the nearby Ochil Hills. The Tullibardine 500 Sherry is initially matured for an indefinite period in first-fill bourbon casks. The whisky then matures for twelve months in ex-sherry casks that previously contained Pedro Ximenez sherry and have a capacity of 500 liters.
This special post-maturing process gives the Tullibardine 500 Sherry Finish its fruity notes and spicy aromas, which add extra depth and complexity to the whisky. (automated translation)
