Descripción
Founded in 1798, Tobermory Distillery is one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland and is located in Tobermory on the Isle of Mull. Since its foundation, it has experienced turbulent times with many changes of ownership and production stoppages. In 1993, Burn Stewart Distillers took over the distillery, which was sold to the South African Distill Group in 2013. In March 2017, production was halted again to carry out restructuring work. Despite these challenges, Tobermory remains an important part of the Scotch whisky tradition.
Tobermory Distillery plans to return to production in the summer of 2019, after a break of around two years, and is celebrating this event with the new Tobermory 12 Year Old. During the closure period, Tobermory restructured its range and carried out refurbishment and renovation work.
In addition to expanding the range to include gin, the new Tobermory 12 year old was also developed to become the distillery’s new flagship product. These measures are intended not only to increase production capacity, but also to improve the quality and variety of the products on offer. (automated translation)
