Tanqueray London Dry Gin is the result of the dedication and innovation of Charles Tanqueray, who spent many years developing the perfect formula for him. His efforts paid off, as Tanqueray gin has been produced using a traditional process based on four distillation runs since 1830.

Throughout his life, Charles Tanqueray carefully documented his ideas and discoveries, always driven by his quest for perfection. He drew inspiration from a wide variety of sources – from exotic spices arriving at the London docks to his travels to remote regions of Europe. However, Tanqueray did not find all of his inspiration in faraway places – some of it came right on his doorstep.

The note on «Lovage», which served as the basis for a modern reinterpretation, appeared in his notes from 1839. This version of London Dry Gin retains Tanqueray’s characteristic juniper and citrus notes, but is complemented by English garden herbs such as lovage and camomile.
