On the wild and romantic coast of the Isle of Skye, south of Dunvegan, lies the picturesque, snow-white Talisker distillery, which was founded by two brothers in 1831. After their deaths, numerous successors tried to successfully continue the distillery, but all failed. Only a financial manager and a wine and spirits merchant succeeded in taking over the business. The production process for Talisker 10 Year Old, which is based on centuries-old traditions, begins with the malting of the barley, which is soaked in water and allowed to germinate.
