Bushmills Distillery, located in picturesque County Antrim in Northern Ireland, is the oldest licensed whiskey distillery in the world. Its origins date back to 1608, when Sir Thomas Phillips was granted the first license to produce whiskey in the region. These barrels come from the renowned Pomerol wine region in Bordeaux, France, where fine red wines made from Merlot grapes were previously stored.
