Descripción

The Bunnahabhain Distillery, picturesquely situated on the coast of the Isle of Islay and founded in 1881, is famous for its mild, unpeated whiskies. Originally reliant on sea trade, the distillery experienced a decisive turning point in 1960 with the construction of a new road, which made logistics considerably easier and secured long-term supplies. After a brief closure in the 1930s and the last ship delivery in 1993, the road finally became the central supply route.

With the takeover by Burn Stewart Distillers in 2006, the brand was given a modern makeover that restaged its traditional character. The whisky is made from soft, chalky spring water without contact with peat – a detail that shapes the soft, characteristic note of Bunnahabhain whiskies and makes them particularly mild and elegant.

The Bunnahabhain Staoisha Horseman No. 4, bottled by Signatory Vintage for the German market, is a strong single malt with 62.7% vol. that has matured for ten years in a first fill Oloroso sherry cask and a Pinot Noir butt. Bottled without chill filtration or added color, it offers unadulterated intensity and multi-layered aromas. The striking design of the label and packaging in an apocalyptic style was created by artist Tom Thiel, who also worked for the band Amon Amarth and gives the Horsemen series its unique look. This makes Horseman No. 4 a real eye-catcher and also impresses connoisseurs and collectors with its taste.
