This is the final release in the ‘Still’ series, a trio celebrating the colours and casks of Bruichladdich whisky. Golder Still was aged in ‘dumpy’ bourbon hogsheads, a cask style experimented with by US cooperages in the 1980s. These squat casks provided a higher wood-to-liquid ratio, imparting notes of apples, custard tarts, spearmint, and a mix of tropical fruits.
Each of the three unpeated whiskies in the series was produced in limited quantities, making them incredibly collectible. It began with Blacker Still, aged in an active oloroso cask, followed by Redder Still, which was finished in red wine casks, and climaxed with this wonderful malt. 51% abv.
