Since 2002, single malts of remarkable depth have been crafted at the Hercynian Distilling Co. in the tranquil Elsbach Valley. This six-year-old whisky is made from regional barley malt and clear mountain spring water from the Zorge River, with a small proportion—five percent—of wood-smoked malt adding subtle complexity. It is matured in a carefully curated combination of Sherry, Port, Marsala, and Malaga casks, which impart a deep amber hue to the spirit without the use of any artificial coloring.
