At the Hercynian Distillery, tradition comes to life—reflected in the use of wooden washbacks and double distillation in classic copper stills. For the 2024 "Imperial Abbey" Edition (Batch 002), Hammerschmiede selected exclusively first-fill sherry casks, allowing the peated spirit to develop its complex structure. The limited run of just 3,456 bottles underscores the artisanal nature of this bottling, which is produced without chill filtration or added coloring.

With an ideally balanced bottling strength of 48% ABV, this single malt is full-bodied and rich in character. We recommend enjoying it neat at room temperature to discover the full depth of flavors derived from the malted barley. If you wish, you can experiment with a few drops of water to further highlight the fruity sherry notes and gently harmonize the smoke.
