The history of Ableforth's Bathtub Gin goes back to the time of American Prohibition, when alcohol was often produced under adventurous conditions. Due to the lack of legally available alcohol at the time, people resorted to low-quality or even denatured alcohol and mixed it with juniper and other spices in bathtubs at home. The herbs and spices were left in the alcohol for several days or weeks to improve its taste and conceal its inferior quality. This gave rise to the term "bathtub gin".
Ableforth's Bathtub Gin proudly presents its "big brother", Navy Strength. Lovers of classic bathtub gin will immediately feel at home with Navy Strength, as the botanicals used are identical. The difference lies in the strength: Navy Strength has significantly more power, which is achieved through a sophisticated cold compounding process. This process allows the gin to develop a stronger and more intense taste.
Navy Strength therefore offers a rich taste experience that is ideal for those who appreciate a potent and aromatically complex gin.
