Descripción
The Knockdhu distillery was founded in 1894 by John Morrison after he purchased the Knock estate in 1892 and recognized the potential of the region. The pure water sources on Knock Hill, the abundance of peat and barley and the connection to the Great North of Scotland railroad line made the location ideal for distilling whisky.
In the Scottish Highlands, particularly in the north and west, there are extensive peat bogs, which not only characterize the landscape, but also make an important contribution to whisky production. Peat, which is used to dry the barley, influences the phenol content (PPM) and therefore the smoky character of the whisky.
Like the previous batches, the third bottling of AnCnoc Peatheart is matured in ex-bourbon casks made from American oak. This whisky is bottled without colorants and without chill-filtration in order to preserve its natural aromas and authentic quality.
